The Discobolus statue, which famously celebrates what the human body can achieve, is often described as heroic, noble and an example of the perfect form. Portrayed here on this advertising column as a consumer of advertisements that also depict exaggerated and impossible ideas of what the human body can achieve, crumbling under the pressure of achieving these goals.

LITFASS GOES URBAN ART advocates for the freedom of all 24 listed advertising columns in Berlin. They should no longer be leased for commercial advertising. In Berlin there are currently 1,500 billboards for commercial advertising, plus large areas, billboards, outdoor frames and telecom boxes. Advertising is even shown on the Trams. “Outdoor advertising is the only advertising that is unavoidable. Outdoor advertising creates brand images in the minds of consumers, which are unconsciously recalled when making a purchase decision.”
